3~4 Meters Tall Gundam & Zaku Monuments To Be Display At Inagi, Tokyo (Japan)

The city of Inagi (Tokyo) is the birthplace of mechanic designer Kunio Okawara, the famed designer of the mobile suits in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series.  In his honor, a 3~4 meters tall Gundam & Zaku monuments will be installed at the JR East - Inagi-Naganuma Station.

TOKYO Gundam Project 2014 (Diver City, Odaiba, Tokyo)


In a continual effort to contribute to the revitalization of Tokyo's inner city area, the 1/1 Scale RX-78-2 Gundam (Gundam Front Tokyo) will begin it's promotion of the 'TOKYO Gundam Project 2014'.  This year's TOKYO Gundam Project 2014 will be a collaboration with Diver City Plaza, Bandai Namco Group, and 7-Eleven Japan.

TOKYO Gundam Project 2014 will be a projection mapping attraction on the 1/1 Scale RX-78-2 Gundam.  Some previous testing images can be seen below.



In the previous year, during the TOKYO Gundam Project 2013, the theme of sports was promoted. And back in 2012, the TOKYO Gundam Project 2012, they inspired us with the message of green conservation.

The Mobile Suit Gundam series begun 35 years ago.  Gundam now aim for the next stage.  It will continue to challenge.  And change has already begun...

A new portal site for the 35th anniversary of Sunrise’s Mobile Suit Gundam series launched today. The first TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam started airing in Japan on April 7, 1979. While not much information is revealed, the tagline on the site says, “Rise! The World is Moving.” And a video screen shows “Coming Soon: March 20th, 2014 5PM, ON LIVE.” It means a new announcement related to the Gundam series will be broadcasted online at 5:00 pm, March 20 (JST), 1:00 am, March 20 (PST).

What can you expect for this March 20 announcement? The long-awaited Gundam: The Origin anime series? A new OVA series following the very successful Gundam Unicorn, such as Hathaway’s Flash or Crossbone Gundam? Yoshiyuki Tomino’s new anime (G-Reko or collaboration project with Legacy Effects)? Bandai confirmed back in July 2013 that Tomino’s newest anime work will be released as a part of the 35th anniversary of the Gundam franchise in 2014 to 2015 and the anime adaptation of Gundam: The Origin will be also released around the same time.
